Learn more about the major upgrade of K Road between Duncans Road and K Road Cliffs and plan your visit to Werribee South.

K Road Reconstruction (Duncans Road to K Road Cliffs)

July 2025 – late 2026

Wyndham City Council is completing a major upgrade of K Road between Duncans Road and the iconic K Road Cliffs, including Werribee Park.

Major works are already underway, and are expected to be completed in late 2026.

These works will greatly improve access to major attractions and events in the Werribee Park Precinct.

What do you need to know?

  • There will be ongoing partial closures of K Road in stages, with traffic management in place and one lane open at all times to ensure continued access to and from Werribee South
  • Use alternative access from Diggers Road to enter and exit K Road if your destination is Main Drive or south of the Equestrian Centre.
  • Access to Werribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee Park Mansion and precinct including Shadowfax Winery, the National Equestrian Centre, The Refectory, Lancemore Mansion Hotel, Wyndham Cache and the Werribee Park Golf Club will be maintained from the existing gates throughout construction – please follow signage to get to where you need to go.
  • Work on the intersection at Main Drive (Gate 2) at the entrance to Werribee Park is currently underway.
  • There will be full two-way access to the Werribee Park Precinct for all major events.
  • From Tuesday 9 June to Monday 15 June 2026, crews will be working overnight between 7pm and 5am to install permanent line marking between Duncans Road and the K Road Cliffs, weather permitting. There will be minor lane closures along K Road as works progress, with traffic operating under a shuttle-flow arrangement.

These works are a significant investment in the future of the region and will deliver enhanced safety and accessibility for all road users.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while this essential road upgrade is undertaken.
