Top Picks for your Now & Again Festival Road Trip

Extend the festival fun over the whole weekend.

Coming to Now & Again this summer at Werribee Racecourse on 18 February 2023?

Make a weekend of it, with this hit list of things to do, where to eat and places to stay.

DO

Go on Safari at Werribee Open Range Zoo

Arriving early? Werribee Open Range Zoo makes for an excellent daytime adventure. The Safari Tour is included in entry, but if you’re looking to upgrade to something a little more VIP – book ahead for a Deluxe Safari Adventure or Early Morning Savannah Experience.

Play a Round of Mini Golf at The Elements Coastal Activity Park

Mini golf is always a good idea, especially when it’s located waterside, right next door to the good folk at 3030 Boulevard. Once you’ve conquered the eighteen-hole course at The Elements Coastal Activity Park, enjoy pizza, drinks and views of the city skyline at this buzzy, harbourside spot – loser pays for lunch.

Explore Werribee Park

If it’s your first visit to Werribee – make sure you start at the spectacular grounds of Werribee Park. Tour the Mansion, explore the trails and then fully embrace the setting with scones and Pimms at The Refectory Parlour. Picnics are welcome and Shadowfax Winery is just a short stroll away (it gets busy come lunch time so bookings are recommended).

EAT & DRINK

Coffee and Brunch

Pre or post festival, take your pick from the excellent brunch options along Watton Street, including Black Seed Café, Notorious Espresso or Wolf on Watton. If the weather’s fine, grab some fresh cannoli and coffee to go from The Little Deli and Panini Bar to enjoy out on the lawn in Wyndham Park.

Cocktails and Dinner

Head to Teddy Picker for cocktails, great pizza and riverside views, or settle in for tacos and tequila at late night Mexican joint, Casa Cantina. On Friday nights from 7pm, Wolf on Watton transforms into the Wolf Cocktail Club, with fresh and exciting sounds weekly from the Faces of Group.

For burgers and fried chicken try Gami Chicken & Beer, Burgertory or Burger Road.

Beers in the Sun

On a sunny afternoon art deco gem, the Bridge Hotel Werribee is hard to beat! Settle in under umbrellas and enjoy a classic pub menu from the team behind Marquis of Lorne and Union House.

At the other end of Watton Street, you’ll find another local favourite, The Park Werribee, offering more than 30 taps on offer, live music and relaxed outdoor dining options to while away your Sunday afternoon.
