Summer School Holiday Fun

From meerkats to mini golf – everything to see, do and enjoy during the summer school holidays from 21 December 2022 – 27 January 2023 in Werribee and Surrounds.
 

See lions, meerkats giraffe and more
Go on safari, catch a keeper talk and explore the walking trails at Werribee Open Range Zoo. Kids under 16 are free during the Victorian Government school holidays, with pre-booked tickets essential. Plan ahead, with these handy weather tips to enjoy the zoo in every kind of weather!

Go on a Sunset Safari
During the summer school holidays for a limited time only, you can experience a Sunset Safari at Werribee Open Range Zoo, including safari tour, dinner and immersive African performances. Saturday nights from 14 January - 4 February. Tickets are limited so you’ll need to get in quick!

Tee off at The Elements Coastal Activity Park
Ditch screen time for sea time, at Wyndham Harbour’s new activity precinctGrab a coffee, enjoy those bayside views and tackle the new mini golf course. There’s no need to book ahead – drop in anytime from 7am to sunset, with tickets from just $10 - $15 or $40 for a family of four.

Take the family to So Frenchy So Chic
Experience joie de vivre as the French do, with plenty of fine food and wine, fabulous music and great company at So Frenchy So Chic in Werribee Park. Kids are welcome at this much-loved festival, with special activities, including lawn games, giant bubbles drumming classes and more. Bookings essential.

Go to the Beach
This summer Werribee South Beach will be patrolled by Life Saving Victoria from 17 December to 5 February. Along the foreshore you’ll find public toilets and BBQs, two playgrounds and great coastal walk to Wyndham Harbour.

Enjoy a family day out at the races
Enjoy a day of country racing with the family at Werribee Racecourse at their Summer Racing Kids Day Out on 7 January. General admission is just $10 children 17 and under are free with an accompanying adult.

Go ten pin bowling
WynCity Bowl & Entertainment is a great spot for families, with each of their 24 bowling lanes equipped with the option for glow in the dark bumper rails and ball ramps so everyone can enjoy the fun. Plus, they also offer laser tag, arcade games and dodgem cars!

Visit a local market
The Tarneit Twilight Market is held on the third Friday of the month, with the next one on 20 January, 5pm – 8.30pm. Browse the stalls and food trucks, catch a performance and enjoy the free kids’ activities.

Picnic in Victoria State Rose Garden
Already ticked off Werribee Park Mansion? The Victoria State Rose Garden is a stunning spot for a picnic, with plenty of rolling lawns for the kids to run around. Entry is free – with gold coin donation encouraged to support the work of the volunteers who maintain the garden.

Go to the movies
Looking for some indoor entertainment? Grab your popcorn and enjoy the latest summer movies at Village Cinemas in Pacific Werribee. The shopping precinct also home to Timezone[KP6]  if the kids are keen to hit the arcade.

Create your own canvas
These guided, social painting sessions are as fun for adults as they are for kids. Social Artist and Pinot and Picasso are both running family-friendly sessions to enjoy during the school holidays, with bookings essential.

Go to the swimming pool
Enjoy the old-school cool of an outdoor pool at the newly renovated, Werribee Outdoor Pool or head to AquaPulse for indoor pools, water play and waterslides.

Stay the night
It’s easy to extend your stay with plenty of family accommodation options including Quest Werribee and Holiday Inn Werribee.
