Extend your stay with a luxurious overnight stay at Lancemore Mansion Hotel, followed by yoga and brunch the following morning.
Whether you start with brunch, a massage or a picnic you’ll find more than enough to fill a day or two. Follow your own adventure, choosing from the following options:
History and heritage combine with nature and luxury at Werribee Park, with the impressive and stately Werribee Mansion crowning jewel. Completed by wealthy pastoralists, the Chirnside family in 1877 and built in the Italianate architecture style, it is a living, breathing postcard of the 19th century.
The gardens surrounding the Mansion are equally impressive, featuring 10 hectares of manicured lawns and gardens. The ideal spot for a leisurely picnic with friends, the gardens have been designed in a distinctive French ‘parterre’ style and feature an ornamental lake and grotto.
Explore a kaleidoscope of colour at the beautiful Victoria State Rose Garden. Spread over six acres and with 5,000 roses on display, this internationally acclaimed garden is the first garden outside of Europe to win the World Federation of Rose Societies Award for Garden Excellence.
The garden features a two theme display with a rose design; a Federation Leaf dedicated to Australian roses and the David Austin Bud showcasing roses of 46 cultivars and the garden pathways act as a rose "stem," leading from the Tudor Rose petals, to a "leaf" and a "rosebud." The garden is open year round, with the best times for viewing in full bloom between November and April.
A short stroll from Werribee Mansion, Shadowfax Winery offers a cellar door, restaurant and underground barrel hall. A new visitor experience, Barrel Room Tastings, invites participants to descend the red spiral staircase to the barrel hall for a guided wine tasting of seven Shadowfax wines, complemented by wine-friendly snacks.
After your wine tasting, head upstairs for a Mediterranean inspired lunch, or pick up a Picnic Box packed full of seasonal produce, which can be taken next door and enjoyed within the grounds of Werribee Park.
Picnic hampers are also available from The Refectory Parlour. This new garden-style cafe and wine bar is located in the west wing of Werribee Mansion. Here you can dine under the Mansion eves or alfresco throughout the surrounding grounds of Werribee Park.
Choose from the freshly baked cake counter, take-away food options or gourmet picnic hampers. Adults only popsicles, gin and tonic, and a range of specialty and seasonal cocktails are also on offer. Picnic blankets, cushions and umbrellas are available to hire giving groups of friends everything they need to enjoy a decadent picnic surrounded by heritage gardens.
The luxurious 5-star Lancemore Mansion Hotel is the icing on the cake for a stylish extended girls getaway. The onsite restaurant, Joseph’s Restaurant Bar, provides plenty of dining experiences. Popular options for groups include Bottomless Brunch or High Tea, both of which can be enjoyed either in the Garden Lounge or under the Mansion Arches.
Take the pampering to the next level with a treatment at L.M. Spa, choose from the extensive menu or ask about a tailored group experience. End with a glass of bubbles by the indoor pool.
Sleep overnight in one of the Heritage Rooms, which were once home to students of St Joseph’s Seminary (built in 1923). Awake the next morning and start the day with Yoga and Brunch in the Park, enjoyed under the Mansion Arches (available Saturday’s only).
